RULES CHANGE PROPOSAL - Move Annual Draft Date

I propose to move the draft date to the week of the MLB All-Star break. I think owners would be much more engaged, and we would not be competing with other sports such as football and basketball.

I agree with this proposal but I would hold the draft the first week of August after the trade deadline has passed and would not allow trading of these picks until the off-season officially begins which would be approximately 60 days from the draft.

The lottery system would probably have to use the 2024 season results again if we were to proceed with this draft date change but there could be six different lottery pick winners to prevent a team from "winning" the lottery two years in a row.

A change in the draft date will help as owners are much more engaged with the season ongoing and the slow draft wouldn't be as slow as the current one is now. After ten days we are only in the middle of the third round and I am losing interest in it because we are drafting potential MLB players not established MLB players.

I wouldn't mind moving it, but I really do like it on November because it provides some activity in the league in an otherwise cold and dead winter .  I think we have a good amount of GMs participate.  In fact, I think this is off season has been the fewest auto picks and skips in recent years.

I too like having the draft after the season concludes (for the same reason that @ldsjayhawk states).

Keep it in november not alot going on and lets us keep baseball going for a little bit longer
