It is no shock that I am in re-build mode, so in this move I give my only bonafide star Centre BUT I get some awesome pieces to build the future around. This is the 1st step to blowing this team up and adding some star potential youngsters!!

Senators confirm this trade.

We approached Montreal to make a deal and after a series of PM's landed on this package to make each team a little better. We know what rebuilding mode feels like and felt the young talent we were dealing were worth the price to add Plekanec. We also add $3.0 Million in cap but have room while Momtreal sheds that same amount and will hopefully be able to add more pieces to their rebuilding effort via FA.

I think this deal benefits both sides. It's a solid rebuild deal in which current value is traded  for future value. Tatar has a good chance to stick with the big club this year, Noesen is a solid prospect, and Cole is a good young D-Man. Plekanec is a good player who will hopefully get back to his stud status under the management changes.

I give this deal to Montreal due to the great rebuild value. Sometimes teams trying to rebuild are pressured into lower quality deals, but that wasn't the case here.

i'm gonna echo what izaman3 stated... win to for acquiring 3 good young players to build around + clear 3.0m in cap space to help with their rebuilding effort. plekanec is an above avg C but he ain't cheap at 5.0m. good deal for both overall.
