Commissioner's office allows Mets to withdraw waiver claim. FYI to everyone... you run the risk of taking the contract as is if you claim said player!

If the player passes through waivers, then it is to the best of my knowledge he does not need to be dropped. Also if he is claimed, the team that waived him can remove him from waivers. In MLB if someone passes through waivers than that player can be traded after the deadline. Most players go through waivers.

wow just saw the rule, this would be its first implementation right? interesting alternative. I do have a question, can a player be removed from waivers if unclaimed or must he be released?

we do, its in the rules. Now I just need a better explanation on how it works, I just need to see it first, but I do not wanna be left outta the loop.
