Trades involving draft picks in an active draft. Once the trade is agreed upon GM2 tells GM1 he wants him to select player X when the pick is up. That players rights are then listed in the trade instead of the actual pick. This will take waiting for approval of the trade with the draft pick out of the mix, allowing an already slow draft to have a bit more flow.I hope that makes sense I have been enjoying an old fashioned or 3.
I just don't know that it is worth the change. We do a better good job on making trades and keeping the draft moving either way. For a 31 team league, we draft really fast.
From an administrative standpoint it would be tough to track the true origin of that especially if the owner wants to Franchise Tag him.As this happened a lot in your opinion?
If you draft a player he can be Franchise Tagged To PPG point the league would need a clear paper trail on who actually drafted the players. We don’t use Fantrax for tracking drafted players so I think your idea is reasonable. Keep the thoughts coming I still wish we could move most of the league transactions to Fantrax for documenting and auto processing. Admin sled that PPG pulls is HUGE
yes it would because you wouldn’t have to wait for an admin to switch the pick. The GM getting the pick would have the other GM select his choice of player. Draft moves on smoothAs for PPGs concern of franchise tag it would go to the player with negation rights and per league rules in order for the franchise tag to be applied once/if said player hits the NHL he has to be on the same team that is owned. So that percentage is small.
The clock never stops ticking so does this proposed change really speed things up?
