Ohh, okay. For some reason I thought I read somewhere that they had to be under cap before free agency, but obviously you're right because that is what it says in the constitution.

I'd assume they can't make any bids. All in all, I would feel a lot better if I knew that the Yankee GM was here..

The Consititution states that any team that started over the cap, i.e. Boston & NY, has until March 1, 2012 to comply. The provision also allows the commissioner to release player or assess other penalties to achieve a payroll under the $125 cap.

I don't know however, how that works with free agency, whether they will be allowed to bid or not?

The Yankees and the BoSox both need to get under the $125M salary cap before the free agency period, correct?

I know that Boston is for sure on their way to achieving this goal, but I haven't seen any activity from NY! I know that their owner is active here on ProFSL, but nevertheless not much work has been done to get them under cap. I think that the Yankee GM is molinator ??

What is going to be done about this Kenny?
