Actually, I think death voids a contract. It's happened a couple of times, Nick Adenhart of Anaheim Angels and Chris Henry of the Bengals, both had their contracts voided. If there is a butout, it's up to management.

In all seriousness, Tomas Voukon probably shouldn't have been allowed to become a free-agent, same for Crawford and Brtyzgalov. At the end of a season if a team lacks a GM we should do something to protect their key players to prevent a shift in competitiveness, and give those players rule-mandated extensions. I know we want to spice up FA bidding, but it will help with turnover issues. With that said, we are all competitiors but this is a dynasty league, a whole process. People who want a fair shot every season are better off in 12-team rotos. I hope Pigs turns the Florida organization and things play out for him. If Tokarsky makes the Lightning I'll trade him Dan Ellis.
