There are lots of trades that I don't agree with and I hate to be the guy that says something...but I think this trade should be reviewed. I don't think the return is enough for nearly $50 mil in cap being eaten on Eovaldi's contract.

Similar to the other trade, I don't think the value is balanced. Not all trades need to be perfect, but a FREE starting pitcher of Eovaldi's caliber should get something more in return than what is going on here.

The money makes this trade a veto for me. Miami is gaining over 21M cap this yr + 16.8 the two years after that. I don't see anything their sending is worth anything near that. I get that Eovaldi is not that great anymore and is 34 and overpaid here, but at free he is pretty valuable. That is probably why I hate the whole soft cap thing.

KC is getting 0 points back (actually negative points). Thier biggest reason in Bigbie, who was great last yr at AA, but has not been same at AAA. Also, he is 25.
