Fellow Armchair GMs, I want to take a moment to detail my plans for the future of the league, should it be decided that I should take over as LM.
League Changes: I would not feel the need to make major changes if there is active GM participation. If we do not have a league full of engaged GMs that is a problem for the future of the league. I would make it my top priority to find a way to keep the current GMs involved with their teams and the league. I have said previously that all options need to be on the table, but I would respect the league and the voices of its members. To reiterate, if we can get back to being an active league, no fundamental changes will need to be made.
Current GM Openings: If named LM, I would begin actively recruiting GMs as soon as possible. It would become increasingly difficult to get GMs after the trade deadline, but there is no reason we should not be filled next season. Those currently, actively involved GMs are exactly the kind of GMs I am going to recruit and enlist for the benefit of the league. I won't be trying to just get warm bodies in here. We will have high level GMs, committed to their teams for the long hauls that come with playing deep fantasy dynasty baseball.
If given the opportunity to be LM I promise to be engaged with the league, transparent with how decisions are made, and efficient with how things are processed (i.e. transaction page, spreadsheet, the draft, etc...) I know this league deserves a dedicated league manager and I believe I am the man for the job. I am willing to answer any questions about/discuss the future of Armchair with any GM of the league.
